GoDaddy Domain Transfer

It’s easy to transfer a domain from one GoDaddy account to another GoDaddy account. This is most common when an apartment changes management/ownership and the domain is still in use for the property website.

Here’s how to transfer a domain between two GoDaddy accounts:

  1. Login to your GoDaddy account and click to view your domains
  2. Click on the domain and click Account Change
  3. Enter TourVista’s GoDaddy account info:
    Email: matt@tourvista.com
    Customer #: 113554239
  4. Domain contact information: Do not change
  5. Nameserver settings: Keep the current nameservers for this domain — this is important or the website will go offline
  6. That will do it! We’ll take care of the rest from there.

Note: the above steps will NOT work for a GoDaddy reseller account, in which case you’ll need to purchase a domain transfer and transfer the domain manually (the old fashioned way).

TourVista’s Domain Management Service

As a convenience, TourVista provides domain management services for our clients. This is included for free with our apartment websites and has many benefits:

  • Helping select the best available domain – view our domain selection criteria
  • Registering & configuring domain
  • Paying for the annual renewal fee
  • Receiving all the spam emails/calls from web dev groups in India 🙂
  • Ensuring domain doesn’t expire (this is super important, it’s a nightmare trying to recover a domain that has accidentally expired and been snatched by a domain squatter. No joke, once a client let their domain expire and it was picked up by a squatter who demanded $2,500 for it! We were able to talk them down to $200 but still what a stress & hassle.)

Does that mean TourVista owns the website domain?

Great question, the answer is NO. Absolutely not. Domains are the property of our clients. We simple manage the domains as a convenience. We’re trying to add value every way possible and domains are a pain. Let us handle your domains and your apartment websites.
